The Parliament session scheduled for this morning has been cancelled after the quorum was not met.

The quorum for the session, which was scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m., was not reached at 9:19 a.m. Speaker Mohammed Aslam then announced that if the quorum is not reached, the session will be adjourned, he said.

However, the quorum was not reached at 9:35 am. either. Speaker Aslam then adjourned the session due to the lack of quorum.

The current 19th parliamentary term will conclude on May 15.

However, Speaker Aslam had stated that sessions will proceed as usual and operations of the parliament will not observe any interruptions until the scheduled last sitting on May 13.
