Former Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid's father Moosa Jameel has passed away today.

Shahid said in a post on X that his father passed away early this morning.

It is learned that he passed away after a long illness. He was recently admitted to ADK Hospital.

President Dr. Mohammed Muizzu has also offered his condolences in the wake of the death.

Moosa Jameel is survived by his wife Maumoona Wajeeh and three children.

Funeral services will be held this evening, after the evening prayers at the Islamic Center.
