Ruling party PNC has secured a super majority at the Parliamentary election.

A total of 70 out of the 93 seats in the 20th Parliament is required for a super majority. As per the temporary results, PNC has secured 71 seats in the election.

While PNC won 71 seats, MDP secured 12 seats and six independent candidates secured seats. Jumhooree Party, and MNP won 1 seat each while MDA secured 2 seats.

PNC has made a coalition with Jumhooree Party and MDA and supported some of the independent candidates as well. As such, the ruling coalition will have 76 seats in the parliament.

Although The Democrats and Adhaalat Party contested in the elections, the parties were unable to secure any seats.
