Elections Commission (EC) has said that no major issues have been noted during the ongoing Parliamentary elections.

EC Member Hassan Zakariyya told 'One' on Sunday that the polling has been continuing peacefully without any major issues although a few minor complaints had been lodged. Zakariyya added that the complaints have been attended to and sorted out.

"The complaints included that of the candidates spending time around voting stations and talking to voters waiting to cast ballots, people who cast ballots without folding the ballot paper and two candidates opening their campaign offices today," Zakariyya said.

He added that 48 percent of voters have cast their ballots and a similar voter turnout is expected in comparison to the 19th Parliament.

Voting will continue until 1730hrs and EC has said voting hours will not be extended under any circumstances.

With 368 candidates contesting for 93 constituencies, there are 602 ballot boxes placed across the voting stations. EC said that only 500 people can cast their votes per ballot box. A total of 284,,663 people are eligible to vote in this election.
