President Dr. Mohammed Muizzu has urged the people from the opposition parties to leave personal affairs and put the interest of the country first and vote for the government candidates in tomorrow's 20th Parliamentary elections.
Speaking at a ceremony held at Artificial Beach after the ruling PPP/PNC's parliamentary campaign march in Male this evening, President Muizzu said he wanted peace to come to the country and eliminate hatred, anger, and revenge.
The President said the country would not benefit from non-government candidates coming to parliament.
"People should come out and think about it more seriously than the parties. I am talking sincerely. For me the party does not matter, every citizen is equal in my eyes. Hence I am appealing all to vote for government-backed candidates tomorrow," he stated.
The President added that the people should vote for the government candidates and put aside their differences.
