Maldives has expressed concern over the US vetoing granting full membership of the United Nations to Palestine.
The US on Thursday vetoed a proposal to grant full membership of the UN to Palestine.
Foreign Minister Moosa Zameer said in a post on X that the Maldives is advocating with more than 140 UN member states to make Palestine a full member state of the UN, adding that it is important for the UN to maintain equality and justice for all countries.
Speaking at the UN General Assembly, Maldives said that the Maldives will strive to make Palestine a full member of the UN and called on all UN countries to act in such a manner.
Maldives said the issue was on the UN Security Council's agenda because of Israel's violations of international law against the Palestinian people, but the Security Council had failed to stop it.
