M. Boahura has been included in M. Muli's jurisdiction.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu said in a resolution issued today that the Constitution stipulates that the administration of the Maldives should be decentralized. The 'Decentralization Act' places the responsibility on the President to determine the jurisdiction of city councils and island councils within all administrative areas of the Maldives.

In the resolution, the President said that it has been found to change the sentiments of city councils and island councils in all the administrative areas of the country, as defined by a presidential resolution on March 18, 2020.

Therefore, the president said that Boahura will now be included in Muli's jurisdiction.

Boahura is one of the most popular destinations in the Maldives. The previous government decided not to build a resort in the island following protests against the previous government's decision to build a resort in the island.
