The application window to transfer land allocated under the Binveriyaa Scheme from Giraavarufalhu to Gulhifalhu has been extended.

The Housing, Land and Urban Development Ministry previously said that land had been allocated under the scheme without allocating enough land for essential services in the area. Therefore, the ministry has decided to transfer some of the land to Gulhifalhu, as the land use plan of Giraavarufalhu has been changed.

Under this 1,347 plots of land will be transferred from Giraavarufalhu to Gulhifalhu.

The Ministry opened applications for the transfer on April 6th.

While the deadline for the applications expired yesterday, the Housing Ministry issued an announcement yesterday saying that the deadline has been extended until 23:00 on Thursday this week due to public demand.

Applications are to be submitted via the Hiyaavehi portal. If more than the stipulated number of applications are made, the applicants will be determined by drawing lots and the date will be announced by the ministry later.

The number and size of the plots are:

- 193 lots of 1250sqft

- 663 lots of 1650sqft

- 487 lots of 2050 sqft

- 4 lots of 2450sqft
