The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has provided temporary shelter to five households affected by floods in the city last night.

The NDMA said in a post on X that 85 houses have reported flooding due to the rains. However, nine houses were damaged to the point where living was difficult. 34 people five of them will be provided with temporary shelter and food.

"These five places have been flooded to the point where it is difficult to live," the NDMA said.

The authority added that school examinations are also starting today and arrangements are being made to make things easier for school students. So far, 495 sandbags have been placed at 73 locations.
