President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has concluded his official visit to Addu City and Laamu Atoll, and returned to Malé City.

President Muizzu, who visited Addu City and Laamu, arrived in Malé city early this morning.

The President arrived in Laamu on Thursday on an official visit. The President visited Maavah, Isdhoo, Dhanbidhoo, Funadhoo and Gan and met with the island councils and people.

In addition, the visit also saw the signing of several development projects for Laamu Atoll.

As such, the airport in Kaddhoo will be further developed and a transshipment port will be included in Laamu. China's CAMCE Engineering and Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a maritime hub in Gaadhoo.

After the official visit, the President went to Addu City yesterday for the parliamentary campaign. The President met with the people of Hithadhoo during his visit. He also held a rally with the candidates contesting on the PNC ticket for various constituencies in Addu City yesterday.
