Tourism Minister Ibrahim Faisal has said that the bunkering port project is ready to be kicked off in L. Gaadhoo.

Speaking to the residents of Isdhoo during President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's visit to Laamu Atoll, Tourism Minister said that land reclamation work has commenced for the development of Kahdhoo Airport as an international airport.

"We are ready to commence work on the bunkering port project with MPL," Minister Faisal said.

He added that President Dr. Muizzu's vision for tourism development in the atoll includes opening new resorts and developing local tourism by adding 5000-6000 beds.

He further added that winning a majority in the Parliamentary Elections is crucial for the Administration to fulfil their development pledges.

Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed had previously said that the bunkering port project will commence by June this year and a Term Sheet had been signed with Vitol Bunkers.
