President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that SO Police officers were dispatched to disperse PNF's meeting against his orders and that action will be taken after investigation.

SO Police had closed Ghiyaasuddin International School's gate where PNF's inaugural meeting was scheduled to be held, leading to confrontations between police and PNF supporters.

Speaking to the press outside Muliaage following the exchange of Eid greetings, President Dr. Muizzu said that his Administration will not summon anyone to the authorities over political differences.

He further added that the Administration will not issue orders against anyone based on political grounds and that he will take action against anyone who issues such orders.

President Dr. Muizzu expressed his displeasure at how the issue was handled, adding that SO police were dispatched against his clear instructions. The President has asked the Home Minister and Commissioner of Police to submit the investigation report to him.

"I have asked for the investigation report to be submitted by sunset. Action will be taken against whoever is responsible for dispatching SO police. I want public confidence in the Police institution and the Government," President Dr. Muizzu said.

Speaking on the issue on X, Police Spokesperson Ahmed Shifan said that Education Ministry had requested from Police to stop an unlawful gathering at GIS as no permits had been secured to hold the meeting there.

Police said they were abiding by the request from the Ministry.
