Sheikh Izzuddin Adnan has been appointed as the Director General of Zakat House of the Maldives.

He was handed over his appointment letter at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Islamic Affairs yesterday by Islamic Ministter Dr Mohammed Shaheem Ali Saeed.

Izzuddin has been holding various positions in the Ministry of Islamic Affairs since 2008. He was most recently the Musaid Waiz of the Ministry.

Sheikh Izzuddin received his higher education from the International Islamic University in Islamabad, Pakistan. He also completed his Master of Sharia course in 2016 and won the Book Prize. He is currently pursuing his PhD at the Islamic University of Maldives.

The 'Zakat House' was founded on 18 December by Prresident Dr Mohamed Muizzu. The facility was officially inaugurated on 2 January 2024.
