Tourism Minister Ibrahim Faisal has said that the people of Laamu Atoll must maintain the government of President Dr Mohammed Muizzu.
Speaking at a campaign meeting of his father and Presidential Special Advisor Abdul Raheem Abdullah, Faisal said the exclusion of Laamu Atoll and its people has come to an end with this government. As such he noted that the President’s Special Advisor and the Finance Minister are both from Laamu Atoll.
He said the four seats in Laamu Atoll should be given to the government and Laamu's status as a separate place has come to an end with the last presidential election. He said it would be difficult to maintain the government unless it had a super majority in Parliament.
“Tourism will be brought to Laamu Atoll, housing units will be built in Laamu Atoll and development projects will be carried out if the government gets four seats,” Faisal said.
