Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has said that 15 hectares of land has been reclaimed from Hulhumale' Phase III.

HDC said Phase III reclamation will be divided into phases. As such, 10 hectares of land for the first phase has been reclaimed as well as 5 hectares of the second phase.

HDC added that work is ongoing to complete the second phase. A total of 63 hectares will be reclaimed under Hulhumale' Phase III project.

Giving information regarding the project, HDC's Managing Director Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed said that work is ongoing without a hitch and will be completed soon.

"Based on the current progress of work, there is scope for conducting future projects at a larger scale. We are also conducting sand searches alongside the project. Work will continue depending on the quantity of sand. As long as we can secure sand, the project will run smoothly," Fazul said.

HDC urged the vessels docked in the area to be removed soon as possible and that arrangements have been made for the vessels to be docked elsewhere.
