Elections Commission (EC) has greenlit the inaugural meeting of former President Abdulla Yameen's People's National Front (PNF).
Former Communications Minister, Mohammed Maleeh Jamal, who led the party's formation, said in a post on X today that the PNF has been permitted to hold its inaugural meeting.
The Election Commission (EC) noted that they had granted Zayn Yameen Abdul Gayoom permission to hold the inaugural meeting to form a political party under the People's National Front (PNF) as per Article 12 of the Political Parties Act.
The Election Commission granted permission to Yameen’s eldest son, Zayn Abdullah Yameen, to form a political party under the name of PNF on November 29 last year.
President Yameen left the PPM on November 23 to form a new political party called the PNF.
PNF has been holding regular political rallies. Many PNF candidates are also contesting the parliamentary elections on their own.
