More than 230 people have applied for the job of cleaning and maintaining mosques in the city.

The first announcement was made in February this year for the job of cleaning the mosques. There were 114 candidates for the job.

The city council later changed its policy to offer a minimum three-year contract to temporary employees and re-announced it last month.

The council announced for the second time that 110 people were required to clean the mosques in the city.

The council's media officer Aminath Shathifa told One today that more than 230 people have applied for the job. He said the interviews will be conducted when the government reopens.

Previously, the cleaning and maintenance of mosques in the city was entrusted to various companies. However, the council decided to change the work to the city council.
