President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has said that new projects will commence within the year for sports facility establishment.

He made the remarks in response to a question by a youth on 'Raees ge Javaab' program regarding when the sports arenas will be built as per the presidential pledge.

President Dr. Muizzu said that he had pledged to establish sports complexes and courts across the nation and that work is ongoing in some islands.

"Physical work has commenced in some islands. We will commence the construction of sports arenas and courts, specially handball courts in various islands within the year," President Dr. Muizzu said.

The President added that the administration prioritises the development of sports and as such, has established a special ministry for sports. He also noted that providing medical treatments and trainings for athletes is also a priority for the administration.
