President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the presidential pledges can only be fulfilled with the support of the parliament.

President Dr. Muizzu made the remarks in response to a question by the public on 'Raees ge Javaab' program, adding that some of the pledges require legislative support and as such the parliament has a huge role to play in fulfilling the pledges.

"I have full confidence that God willing we can fulfil all the pledges during my tenure. However, the support of the parliament is required for some of these pledges. If the legislative body does not support the administration, it would create challenges for the government to fulfil the pledges. This is why the parliament's support is important," President Dr. Muizzu said.

He said that the budget passed by the parliament will play the most significant role in how the pledges will be fulfilled. President Dr. Muizzu also noted that a majority of the projects the current administration requested to be included in the budget had been removed by the outgoing government.
