Independent candidate, Ahmed Ibrahim, contesting for Dh. Kudahuvadhoo constituency has decided to back PPM/PNC candidate Hussain Hameed.

At a ceremony held at Maaenboodhoo which falls under Kudahuvadhoo constituency, Ahmed Ibrahim officially announced his decision to back the PPM/PNC candidate and asked the public to vote for Hussain Hameed.

Ahmed Ibrahim said that the main reason for his decision was to ensure that votes would not be divided and that the ruling party can secure the seat.

"Majority of votes I will receive are votes that Hussain Hameed will lose. This only benefits the opposition. I do not want the opposition to win this constituency. It is not in the best interest of the public either. The constituency's hopes are riding on the ruling party's candidate," Ahmed Ibrahim said.

The ceremony was attended by numerous people who support the ruling party candidate. Hussain Hameed, who attended the ceremony expressed his gratitude to Ahmed Ibrahim and thanked him for prioritising the best interest of the public and the nation.

Ahmed Ibrahim has done notable work in the social development in Maaenboodhoo and as such, has gained popularity. He has also served in MIFCO for over 25 years.
