The Independent Institutions Committee of the Parliament has approved the appointment of either Abdul Haseeb Ismail, Dhaftharu 7505, or Fatima Habeeba, Dhaftharu 9472, as members of the Civil Service Commission.

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu nominated three members in total, including Haseeb and Habeeba. The third nomination was Mariyam Shahida, Ma. Forest.

After examining the names of the three, the committee sent the report to the Parliament for a decision on the appointment of one of the two as members of the commission.

The parliament will now decide on the matter.

The CSC membership post became vacant after the expiry of the term of its member Fathimath Amira.

The five-member commission, which has a total of five members, now consists of the commission’s president, Mohammed Naseeh, vice-president, Ibrahim Rasheed, and two members, Mohammed Farsat and Fathimath Shareef.
