The Election Commission (EC) has once again granted permission to form a political party called the Green Party of Maldives.

The EC today said it had granted permission to form the "Green Party of Maldives" this time to Ga. Kolamaafushi, Oceanreed, Mohammed Azim.

The EC first permitted Kaashidhoo MP Abdulla Jabir to form a political party called the Green Party of Maldives. However, the Election Commission revoked Jabir's permission for failing to form the party within the stipulated time frame.

One Online has learned that Azim, who has been given permission to form the Green Party, is Jabir's brother.
