China Communication Construction Company (CCCC) has started maintenance works on the Sinamale' Bridge.

The maintenance works of the Sinamale' Bridge were awarded to China's CCCC at a special ceremony held at the Senaco Hall of the Voice of Maldives on the 20th of this month.

Under the agreement, CCCC will carry out the maintenance work of the Bridge for the next three years. In addition, the work includes the recruitment and training of Maldivians required for the work, conducting assessments to study the initial repair work and maintenance of the bridge and establishing a record keeping system.

The work was previously being done by China's CCCC as well. The company did the work from 2018 to 2020. The bridge, which was developed with $200 million in Chinese grants and loans, was opened in 2018.
