CEO of National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) Heena Waleed has been appointed as Chief Spokesperson for Progressive Congress' for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
In a post on X on Thursday night, PNC said that Heena had been appointed to represent the party as the spokesperson for the election.
Heena filled the role of chief spokesperson of PNC prior to being appointed as CEO of NSPA. Heena stepped into the role in July 2020. Prior to that, Heena has been the spokesperson for PNC since 2019.
The most candidates running for the parliamentary elections hail from PNC. As such, 89 candidates from PNC are contesting in the elections while MDP has 82 candidates, The Democrats have 39 candidates, Jumhooree Party has 10 candidates and Adhaalat Party and MDA have 4 candidates and MNP have 2 candidates in addition to 130 independent candidates.
A total of 238 candidates are contesting for the parliament, with 22 female candidates and 216 male candidates. Among the independent candidates, 20 are female and 110 are male.
