President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the administration will not summon anyone for question on political grounds.
The President made the remarks during his interview with state media 'PSM'. He noted that MDP's Chairperson Fayyaz Ismail had been summoned to Police for questioning over the RDC corruption case.
After the investigation, Fayyaz had accused Home Minister Ali Ihusan of targeting him under a directive by President Dr. Muizzu.
Responding to Fayyaz's claims, President Dr. Muizzu said that his administration would not arrest or summon anyone for questioning on political grounds, as he had announced during his campaign.
"The past four months have been like that. We have not targeted anyone on political grounds. No arrests have been made on political grounds, no summons as well. We will not target people on political differences. I do not mind political criticism. I will not pose any challenges based on political ideologies," President Dr. Muizzu said.
He further said that Police and MNDF have not become involved in any political strikes over the past few months, noting the strike at Kooddoo where fishermen shut down the factory in the island.
