A 'Letter of Exchange' has been signed with China to provide laboratory equipment for 17 islands across the nation.

At a ceremony held at Health Ministry on Thursday, the agreement was signed by Health Minister Abdulla Khaleel and Chinese Ambassador Wang Lixin.

Laboratory equipment is to be provided for the following islands:

  • Gdh. Hoandehdhoo
  • HA. Maradhoo
  • HA. Maarandhoo
  • Sh. Goidhoo
  • B. Dhonfanu
  • B. Kihaadhoo
  • Th. Dhiyamigili
  • GA. Maamendhoo
  • GA. Nilandhoo
  • Sh. Noomara
  • Lh. Olhuvelifushi
  • ADh. Hanyameedhoo
  • V. Keyodhoo
  • K. Gaafaru
  • N. Maalhendhoo
  • AA. Maalhos

The laboratory equipment is to be procured for the islands over a period of five years.

Health Ministry said that the agreement with China will enable laboratory services to be provided in islands with ease.
