Jumhooree Party (JP) candidate for the Dhaandhoo parliamentary seat, Nishama Mohamed, has officially endorsed her rival candidate from the main ruling People’s National Congress (PNC), Mohamed Fazeel.

Nishama, who is also a JP council member, posted a photo of herself greeting Fazeel earlier yesterday. She thanked JP leader Qasim Ibrahim for giving her the opportunity to contest the constituency seat. She also said she had earned the love and respect of the people during his campaign.

However, she said that a win is uncertain given the lack of funds and time.

“I therefore find that it is in the best interest of everyone for me and all my supporters to back ruling party’s candidate for Dhaandhoo constituency,” she said.

Fazeel welcomed and thanked Nishama's decision and said her participation was very important for his campaign.
