Former Minister Aneesa Ahmed has resigned as a member of the Independent Committee, which advises the Housing Ministry on land and flats allocated by the previous government.
The Housing Ministry formed the committee to implement the 'Binveriyaa' and 'Gedhoruveriyaa' scheme. The committee was formed upon President Mohammed Muizzu’s advice in February.
While Aneesa resigned from the committee, she remained unavailable for a comment on the matter.
However, several online newspapers have quoted her as saying that she resigned for health reasons and could not give enough time to the committee.
Aneesa said she has only attended one meeting since the committee was formed. She said she sent her resignation letter a few days ago.
Aneesa is also the chair of the committee, which was formed on 14th last month. Besides Aneesa, the committee also includes Aminath Inaas Ahmed Ali Manik, Abdul Aziz Yusuf and Maryam Fizana Rasheed.
