President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the military drones will be operated by Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF)

He made the remarks while answering a question on 'Raees ge Javaab' program, adding that he has no intention of keeping foreign military presence in the Maldives.

"We inaugurated the Air Corp service recently and only MNDF will operate the UAV's and the military drones. We will not keep forcing military presence to assist with that," President Dr. Muizzu said.

He said the drones will be operated by MNDF's team that has been trained in Turkey and that more officers will be trained for the task in future.

"The service will be fully operated by Maldivian officers," he said.
