STELCO has urged people to be cautious while using electricity during Ramadan.
STELCO's Managing Director Hussain Fahmy said in a Facebook post that the Met Office has informed that this is going to be the hottest period in the country.
Since people use more electricity during Ramadan compared to other months, we advise caution on usage during this period, Fahmy said.
Fahmy said that on an average, 94 MW of electricity is consumed in the male' area. He, however, said that up to 104.7 MW of power is being consumed these days.
Therefore, in order to reduce the cost of electricity as much as possible, we urge people not to use electricity unless absolutely necessary, Fahmy said.
