Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has handed over the repair and maintenance of roads at Velana International Airport (VIA) to Road Development Corporation (RDC).

The agreement in this regard was signed on behalf of RDC by Managing Director, Brigadier General (Rtd) Ali Zuhair and CEO and Managing Director of MACL, Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed.

According to the RDC, the agreement includes construction, repair and resurfacing of the VIA roads, regular maintenance of roads, repair of potholes on the road, repair of dilapidated structures of buildings and line marking on roads.

The agreement will also include cleaning of road areas, water harvesting systems and related infrastructure and public places, sidewalks and other designated places as per the directions of MACL and disposal of garbage collected, the RDC said.
