President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the project to install additional elevators in Hiyaa Towers in Hulhumale' Phase 2 will make patient transfers easier.

On the Q&A platform ‘Raeesge Javaab’ on Sunday, Mohamed Labeeb asked the President whether arrangements are being made to ease the transfer of patients in the towers while additional elevators are being installed. In his answer, the President noted that the new elevators will also include stretcher elevators.

Therefore, the issue will be solved when the project is completed, he said.

Additional elevators will be installed in all towers of Hiyaa flats. It is part of President Mohammed Muizzu’s presidential pledges. MVR 200 million has been included in this year's budget for the project.

Shenyang Yuan Intellectual Group, a Chinese company, was awarded the contract last month to install the additional elevators in the flats.

The installation of the elevators began last month and 32 new elevators will be installed. There is an additional passenger and stretcher lift for each flat. The work will be completed within a year.
