Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has said that a total of 26 cases related to magistrates and judges were reported to the Commission in 2023.
According to the annual report released by the JSC, 50 cases related to judges were reported to the commission in the last five years.
Of these, 35 cases have been resolved by December, but 15 cases are pending at the time.
Of the 26 cases filed last year, six were filed for violation of the Constitution and laws, six for non-discharge of duties, five cases of delay in court complaints, and one case was filed in each of these forms for corruption, participation in political activity and otherwise.
JSC took cognisance of many of these cases and took action, including the suspension of some of the judges.
