Vice President (VP) Hussain Mohamed Latheef has not yet moved to Hilaaleege yet, the President's Office has said.

Social media is abuzz with rumours that the VP left Hilaaleege and moved to his own apartment due to the chief of staff spying.

Minister at the President's Office for Strategic Communication Ibrahim Khalil told One today that there was no truth in the rumours on social media, adding that the Vice President had never lived in at the official residence as it was undergoing repairs.

"The Vice President will move to Hilaaleege only after the repairs are completed. I can't say a specific date when therepairs will be completed," Khalil said.

In a post on X today, the Vice President said that rumours are being spread in connection with him that are "absolutely baseless" and urged him to stop corrupting the society by making such lies.
