Former President Mohamed Nasheed has said that everyone who supported President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu when came to power have now left him and the President is alone.

Nasheed, who has taken a step back from politics, made the remarks on India's 'Republic' TV channel on Thursday.

Responding to a question by the program host if President Dr. Muizzu's regime was falling, Nasheed said President Dr. Muizzu came to power for two reasons.

The first was the split of MDP and the weakening of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, while the second reason was the members who left MDP and former President Abdulla Yameen supporting Dr. Muizzu.

"Now President Dr. Muizzu's own party has split and President Yameen has fallen out with president Dr. Muizzu. The president has no support and he is isolated," Nasheed said.

He said the upcoming parliamentary elections will clarify the political situation in the country and the people will take the right decision.
