The State Trading Organisation (STO) has announced that the company will start issuing staple food to the households as per President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's pledge on Saturday.

The STO said on Thursday night that the company would work with Ministries, Councils and some NGOs to distribute them.

According to the STO, the issuance of goods in male' area will begin from March 9 to 16 under the aegis of the Male' City Council.

Male' city residents will have to go to the Social Center and the City Council's General Services Department (Galolhu Stadium). While villimale' people have to go to Birri Mosque Hall, residents in Hulhumale' Phase I have to go to Umar Zahir Building, and those from Hulhumale' Phase II have to go to the Youth Center of Hiyaa Flat Tower 10.

The staple food will be issued from 1000 - 1600hrs and from 2030 - 2330hrs. STO said that the staple food will be issued from 0930 - 1100hrs and from 2100 - 2330hrs during Ramadan.

STO said that the loading of goods going to the islands was started yesterday and the goods will be released to households in the islands by the local council.
