Maldives Police Service have begun towing vehicles that are illegally parked.

In a post on X, Police noted that illegally parked vehicles and old vehicles will be removed starting today.

The issue of illegally parked vehicles became a conversation once again after Former Chief Justice Hathif Hilmy revealed that the Police had stated that they were not able to take action against vehicles that are parked illegally. Hathif stated that a vehicle was parked within the bounds of his house illegally, yet no action was taken.

Police has since issued a warning that such vehicles will be towed.
