President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated that a quality airport will be built in Thulhaadhoo and the land will be dredged.
The previous government decided to build an airport in Thulhaadhoo and started dredging 40 hectares of land for the construction of the airport by Sri Lanka's Capital Marine and Civil Construction. However, the work was stopped at some point.
The President who is currently on a tour of Raa Atoll and Baa Atoll visited the island and stated that the projects in the island are progressing slowly and that he would change it.
The President said he would expedite the work by making the necessary changes to the scope of the Thulhaadhoo airport.
Noting that more land is needed for the long and medium road plan of Thulhaadhoo, the President said that along with the airport work, the land of the island will also be dredged.
The President said the issue of the flats in Thulhaadhoo is in court and the hope is that the flats will be completed soon. The President will also inaugurate the construction of another 100 housing units in Thulhaadhoo this year
