President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the airport to be developed in the south of Raa Atoll will be the kind of airport the people want.

During his presidential campaign, he promised to build and develop an airport in Raa Atoll Fainu. However, the previous government decided to develop an airport in Baniyanfaru in the South of the Atoll.

Speaking with the residents of Inguraidhoo as part of his ongoing tour of the Atoll, the President stated that the opinion of the people would be taken into consideration when projects are carried out for the Atoll.

The President said he believed the airport would have a very good outcome and was confident that it would create economic jobs and multiply the revenue to serve the people.
