President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated that he will finish the land reclamation project in Raa Meedhoo as pledged.

The President, who is on a tour of the Atoll, said that Meedhoo is now full and in fact there is not much space to expand the land even in the lagoon.

The President said he had proposed to include funds for the projects within the ten-day period given to the budget during the transition period, but the proposed amounts were not included in the budget by the previous government.

The President added that the budget does not include funds for completion of ongoing projects and resumption of stalled projects.

Although the budget does not include money for these, other ways of implementing projects are being facilitated, he said.
