President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that major problems faced by the Sh. Komandhoo citizens will be resolved within this year by connecting the island with Mathi Komandoo.
Speaking at meeting held this afternoon to meet the people of the island, the President said that most of the development projects initiated in the island were stalled.
Pointing out that the island is very full and congested, he said the housing problem in the island would also be addressed this year.
"At the same time, there are a lot of projects like the seawall project, port issue, port outer hull and port expansion. There are water and sanitation issues that need to be addressed," he said.
The President said that all the major needs of the island will be completed and the remaining works will be completed next year.
The President reiterated that the airport would be built at Dhiguvelidhoo as promised during the election campaign.
He further said that the projects initiated in the island will be carried out with the participation of the people and some necessary changes will be made.
