Special Advisor to the President Abdul Raheem Abdulla has said that candidates elected to the Parliament should be trustworthy and people who can lead the country and the people.

Speaking at a meeting held at the HDh. Makunudhoo school this afternoon as part of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's ongoing visit to the island, Abdul Raheem said that the government has agreed to do everything necessary for the development of the island, but it is in the hands of the people of the island to facilitate it.

Abdul Raheem said that the people of the constituency should be elected to the parliament.

"They have to be someone who leads the people, who prioritises the country, who works with the government to bring progress without any delay," Abdul Raheem said.

Abdul Raheem said the citizens should also cooperate in electing the government candidate for the upcoming parliamentary elections.

Abdul Raheem further said that the government is facing a lot of difficulties because of the parliament.
