President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has assured that he will make the Haa Alif Baarah eco-tourism project a reality.

Speaking to the residents of Baarah as part of his ongoing tour of the North, the President noted that the most important pledge for Baarah is the eco-tourism project.

"It is a promise that you have asked for a major long-term tourism project for the future of this island. So I repeat that we will make it a reality,” he said.

The President said he is most concerned about fulfilling all the promises he has made, but there is a budget constraint. He said the current budget was inherited by this government.

"It is not a budget made by this government. You know, during the current parliamentary session, the current parliament shaped it as it is. The budget was not made as we proposed," he said.

The President added that the current budget does not fully accommodate his promises and therefore there are difficulties in doing many things as he wanted this year.
