President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the budget for this year does not include enough money to complete the projects that are already ongoing.

Speaking to the residents of Haa Alif Vashafaru as part of his ongoing tour of the North, the President said that every year the budget is passed and the money needed to complete the ongoing projects is included in the budget.

However, the budget for this year did not include enough money to complete the ongoing projects, he said.

"The budget will include enough money every year to complete the ongoing projects. However, when this year's budget was passed, there was not enough budgeted to finish ongoing projects. We did not pass this budget, neither did we formulate it, hence ongoing projects are being delayed," the President said.

The President said he would start the Vashafaru land reclamation project within this year.

He added that he is also making special efforts to reduce expenditure and increase revenue.
