The largest number of housing projects will be implemented in Gaafu Dhaalu Thinadhoo in terms of population, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated.

The President said that during his recent visit to Thinadhoo, it was highlighted that one of the most important things needed by the city is housing. The projects will start very soon, he said.

"Sports facilities and infrastructure and all that information was shared. So the answer to that question is that Thinadhoo City will become a place where the largest number of housing projects will be developed in terms of the population,” he said.

The President said the government is giving priority to building the largest buildings in largely populated areas as it will be easier to consolidate the population in a densely populated area. However, he does not see it as discrimination and said that sustainable development can only be brought to the Maldives by consolidating the population.
