Former Vice President Faisal Naseem has signed up for the MDP.
Faisal, who has been the Vice President of the MDP government for the past five years, signed up for the MDP at a ceremony held at the MDP office recently. Faisal signed the agreement in the presence of former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, his party President Abdullah Shahid, and MDP Chairman Fayyaz Ismail.
Faisal left JP on 21st of last month after being a member of the party since its inception.
Faisal has been working with MDP since the last presidential election. Faisal also supported President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih in the presidential election.
Faisal started his political career in 2004 in the Special Assembly of the People. He served in the Special Assembly as a member of Fuvahmulah. Then, in 2005, Faisal signed up for the MDP at it's inception.
After that, in 2008, Qasim announced that he would contest the presidential election and formed JP. After that, he was in the JP until last month.
Before becoming Vice President, Faisal was elected as a Member of Parliament from Kaashidhoo constituency in the 2014 parliamentary elections.
