Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has said R. Ungoofaaru Land Reclamation and Shore Protection Project is well underway.

MTCC said dredging and reclamation is ongoing, with 63% completion.

Scope of work for the project includes 10 hectares reclamation operations, 838.60m rock boulder revetment, and a 75m rock boulder groyne.

The project is valued at MVR 71.08 million.

MTCC was contracted the project by Planning Ministry in August 2022.
