A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the preliminary design and survey work of the bridge project connecting Hithadhoo to Hulhudhoo-Meedhoo in Addu City has been signed today.

The project was contracted to The Arab Contractors of Egypt. Minister of Construction and Infrastructure, Dr Abdulla Mutalib, signed the agreement on behalf of the Maldivian Government while Heba Abu AlEla, signed on behalf of The Arab Contractors.

President D.r Mohamed Muizzu attended the signing ceremony, held during his meeting with the residents of Addu City’s Maradhoo and Maradhoo-Feydhoo as part of his ongoing visit to Addu City, Huvadhoo, and Fuvahmulah City.

President Dr. Muizzu emphasized that this is one of the significant projects pledged by the Administration. He noted the expenses for the design and feasibility of the bridge will be funded by grants. The President stated that the project will commence this year and will be completed within the year as well.
