Feydhoo MP Mohamed Nihad has urged the public to give the new administration time to overcome the economic crisis faced by the Maldives.
President Muizzu began his visit to four southern atolls yesterday and met with the people of Hithadhoo and Feydhoo. Nihad, who accompanied the President to the meeting, said that President Dr. Muizzu's priority for the development of Addu is confirmed. He added that whereas former president Ibrahim Mohamed Solih was unresponsive, President Dr. Muizzu has always been responsive.
"President Dr. Muizzu is ready to do whatever it takes. All we need is a little bit of patience. That's because when this government of ours took over, the debt was huge. If you look at FENAKA, or MWSC or the ministries, you see that the debt was so high. But this Government will work towards providing solutions," MP Nihad said.
Nihad said that President Muizzu has been working for the development of Addu on his own initiative. He added that the President has considered and discussed a major tourism project in Addu and wants to continue work on projects that will be economically beneficial and will create jobs in Addu.
MP Nihad said it was important for the government to win seats in all the constituencies of Addu city for the development of Addu City with President Dr. Muizzu.
He added that he was ready to elect President Dr. Muizzu for a second term.
