President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the government will carry out projects in a way that will enrich the people.

Speaking to the people of Maradhoo-Feydhoo this evening as part of the President's visit to Addu City, he said that if a loan has to be taken, it will be taken for the benefit of the people.

"While we are going ahead with the projects, if we have to take a loan it be taken in such a way that the people are enriched for one thing. We will take loans in a way that will benefit small and medium enterprises," he said.

He said that if a loan is taken, it will be taken in a long-term distribution to the economy as smoothly as possible, which will be taken to boost the economy and that is what is being done now.

"Over last three months, for example, the20 or so agreements we have signed with China, all of them have been signed in this manner," he said.

He added that the previous government had taken loans worth several USD 100 billion every year and the benefits from the projects carried out by these loans were very small.
